Assistant Manager, Group Design

About the Job

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced individual to join our Store Development & Planning team as a Group Design Assistant Manager. This role is integral in leading and overseeing the design aspects of store development, expansion, and renovation projects across various locations, ensuring alignment with the Group’s growth objectives and brand standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the Group's design strategy for store development projects, creating comprehensive design management & documentation guidance in line with business objectives.
  • Lead, oversee, and report on the design aspects of project preparation and execution, ensuring adherence to design concept, timelines, quality standards, and budget constraints while maintaining brand consistency.
  • Generate design solution from concept proposal to detailed design execution with strong brand-minded perspective and customer driven experience. Involved in overall audit of architectural drawing, provide support and enhance spatial efficiency in terms of interior spatial and visual planning perception.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including construction and visual merchandising to ensure seamless integration of design concepts into store development projects.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in retail store design to drive continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess design implementation and provide guidance to ensure design intent is maintained.
  • Develop and track all design projects, ensuring adherence during project life cycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in interior design, architecture, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in retail store design, with significant experience in managing retail projects.
  • Demonstrated success in leading retail rollouts or commercial design projects from concept to completion. Regional/ global retail exposure is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of retail industry trends, customer behavior, and market dynamics.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in office and design software, including Autocad, Sketchup and 3D modeling tools.
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin.
  • Candidates with more experience will be considered as Manager.
