Associate Director, Human Resources Business Partner

About the Job

We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented Associate Director, Human Resources Business Partner to join our People & Culture team.  This role will be pivotal in aligning HR strategies with business goals and driving organizational effectiveness across our Hong Kong and Southeast Asia office.  The ideal candidate will lead a small team of HR professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that support business objectives and drive organizational success.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to employees and management, addressing complex employee relations issues and promoting a positive workplace culture.
  • Manage and mentor a team of HR professionals, ensuring alignment with HR best practices and organizational goals.
  • Work with other HRBPs to assist the business in conducting annual HR processes such as salary review, promotion, and performance evaluation.
  • Support organizational change initiatives, ensuring effective communication and engagement strategies are in place.
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures are in compliance with local labor laws and regulations.  
  • Develop and implement HR policies that promote a fair and inclusive workplace.
  • Utilize HR metrics and analytics to drive decisions, improve processes, and measure the effectiveness of HR initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field.
  • Minimum 18 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably in a multinational retail environment.
  • Good understanding of HR practices and employment laws.
  • Proven experience in HR business partnering and strategic planning.
  • Solid experience in developing and implementing human resources strategies that support organizational objectives.
  • Strong strategic mindset with the ability to translate business objectives into effective Human Resources strategies.
  • Demonstrates adaptability, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Chinese and English.
  • Candidates with more experience will be considered for the Director position.
