Associate Director, Sustainability

About the Job
Reporting to and supporting the Sustainability Director, work with different functions and business units to implement Chow Tai Fook Jewellery’s sustainability strategy and action plan, as well as to enhance the Group’s sustainability performance to world-class level.
Key Responsibilities
Sustainability action plan implementation and performance enhancement:
- Manage the implementation of the Group’s sustainability programmes and initiatives, aligning with its strategy and collaborating with respective sustainability taskforces comprising different functions and BUs.
- Manage/oversee the collection and analysis of ESG data, including carbon emissions, to ensure regulatory compliance and data integrity/completeness, enhance efficiency as well as meeting international standards/rating agency requirements; manage the tracking of data trends and KPIs vs targets and sustainability roadmap, collaborate with respective taskforces to advise action plans where performance falls short of targets.
- Support Science-based Targets setting and decarbonisation roadmap development and drive implementation.
- Manage ESG risk monitoring and mitigation, including climate risks and their financial impact assessment.
- Support sustainability reporting and disclosures submission such as DJSI, CDP as needed.
- Collaborate with taskforces to review current state-of-play such as packaging materials used, waste segregation and recycling, energy usage, research and identify enhancement areas and appropriate solutions.
- Conduct gap analysis based on research and benchmarking leading companies and industry peers, investor inquiries and rating agency assessments to identify enhancement areas, develop solutions/new initiatives to support the advancement of sustainability, working with related taskforces.
- Keep abreast of global, industry and local trends and issues focusing on environment and climate change, recommend appropriate actions and provide Point-of-View to contribute to prudent business decisions and risk mitigation.
Supporting other sustainability initiatives:
- Handle/support other ESG related assessments or certifications as needed, eg LCA, responsible sourcing assessment
- Work with teammates to plan and implement programmes for internal culture building fostering understanding and internalisation of sustainability vision and practices.
- Supervise subordinate(s), helping to coach other team members and build team capacity.
Requirements
- University graduates preferably with major in environmental science, Sustainability related or Science subjects.
- 13+ years of relevant experience in sustainability roles at MNCs or locally listed companies preferably with manufacturing and retail operations, including at least 8 years in managerial positions with supervisory experience.
Consultancy experience a plus.
- Experience and depth of knowledge in emissions (including Scope 3) accounting, energy management/renewable energy, decarbonisation/SBT process, climate risk assessment and action planning/TCFD/TNFD, ESG data management, Supply Chain management.
- Knowledge and experience in carbon offsets an advantage.
- Working knowledge in product packaging solutions, waste management and sustainability reporting/disclosures and rating agency assessments such as DJSI, CDP and Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index.
- Ability to work with and drive actions by other functions and BUs.
- Good project management and inter-personal skills.
- Good English and Chinese, proficient in Putonghua.
