About the Job
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced individual to join our Store Design & Project Management team as a Construction Project Manager. This role is integral in leading and overseeing the construction aspects of new store development, renovation and refurbishment projects across various locations mainly within Asia Pacific , ensuring alignment with the Group’s growth objectives and brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute Group’s store development strategy and develop comprehensive project plans for store openings and renovations in alignment with Group’s business objectives.
- Deliver, oversee and report on overall project preparation and execution, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and budget constraints as well as aligning with brand standards. Able to flag risks to timelines or budgets and provide alternatives accordingly.
- Ensure that all projects and warranty period activities are carried out in compliance with relevant statutory requirements and regulations.
- Develop and track all project budgets, ensuring adherence during project life cycle.
- Own and oversee the tendering process, ensuring fairness, transparency, and compliance with procurement policies.
- Support evaluation and contract negotiations with suppliers, contractors, and vendors to obtain competitive pricing and favorable terms.
- Partner with Design team to ensure that all required documentation are provided or procured to meet with relevant local authority, landlord or other similar regulations.
- Production & Procurement function to create framework to drive cost, speed and consistency.
- Improve and create management, communication plans and processes, including leading all project planning meetings.
- Evaluate project performance upon store openings, to review and optimise timelines, quality and spend.
- Partner across all cross functions with the business unit and the SDP team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Understand the basic M&E, Fire Safety and Security requirements of typical retail environments and larger landlord conglomerates within the Asia region (including Australia).
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Architecture, Design, Project or Construction Management, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 - 7 years’ managerial experience in overseeing store design process, openings, renovation & maintenance projects, preferably in Retail industry experience will be considered favourably.
- Effective time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage resources efficiently.
- Well-organized with strong sense of responsibility and integrity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated skill in managing external vendors and improving performance. Knowledge and experience in supplier contract management, production processes, and timelines. Strong commercial and financial understanding of capex finance functions.
- Knowledge in MS Office, MS Project, and AutoCAD required.
- Good command of Mandarin and English.
- Willingness to travel within Asia region.
