About the Job
The Merchandising Manager is responsible for driving product assortment, inventory planning, and new store openings to support business objectives across retail channels. This role works closely with Product Planning, Visual Merchandising, Retail Operations, and Branding teams to ensure optimal product availability, strong sell‑through, and consistent execution aligned with brand and commercial strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Merchandising Strategy & Planning
- Execute merchandise strategies aligned with seasonal business plans, sales targets, and brand direction.
- Partner with Product Planning teams and local RM team to define product assortment, depth. Analyze historical sales performance and market trends to support range planning and category growth.
Assortment & Product Management
- Review market order and product assortment, ensuring the right product mix by different store tier, store concept, and customer profile.
- Monitor product lifecycle from launch to phase‑out, including newness flow, replenishment, and stock turn.
- Collaborate with local RM team on specific projects, for example Model Stores, New Store Opening.
In‑Season Performance Management
- Track sales performance, sell‑through, stock turn, and KPIs on a regular basis.
- Identify risks and opportunities and recommend timely actions, including stock reallocation, and replenishment.
- Prepare regular sales, stock, and performance reports with clear insights and action plans, especially for the new collections and New Stores.
Project & Initiative Management
- Manage merchandising related initiatives including new store openings, top stores product zoning and panel productivities, stores or sub-brands revamps, model stores, pilot store concepts roll outs.
- Lead and oversee multiple cross functional merchandising projects at group level, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business priorities.
Define project scope, merchandising requirements, timelines, and key deliverables, ensuring consistent execution across markets. - Monitor project progress, identify risks, and proactively resolve issues to ensure smooth execution and commercial effectiveness.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with Visual Merchandising on the product zoning, display priorities, and in‑store execution with merchandising strategy.
- Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders on merchandising plans, performance updates, and action priorities.
Market & Trend Analysis
- Work with market to understand the local market team needs and trends, competitor activity, and customer behavior to provide insights for future merchandising strategies.
- Support continuous improvement of merchandising processes, tools, and reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Fashion, or related discipline.
- Minimum 6–8 years of merchandising experience, preferably in retail, fashion, luxury environments.
- Strong commercial mindset with solid analytical and numerical skills.
- Proven experience in assortment planning, in‑season and inventory management.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and merchandising or planning systems.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Detail‑oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficient in spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin).
