About the Job
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced individual to join our Store Design & Project Management team as a Senior Group Design Manager. This role is integral in leading and overseeing the design aspects of store development, expansion, and renovation projects across various locations, ensuring alignment with the Group’s growth objectives and brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of the Group’s design strategy for store design projects, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and brand direction.
- Provide strategic oversight and lead governance across all design phases, from concept development to detailed documentation, ensuring consistency in design quality and brand identity and able to bring a design from paper to reality.
- Generate design solutions from concept proposal to detailed design execution with strong brand-minded perspective and customer driven experience. Independently lead the overall audit of architectural drawings, detailed shopdrawings and related development. Provide related support to team and vendors as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including procurement, project management, and visual presentation.
- Good understanding of retail design, lighting and detailing. Well-versed in retail space planning logic and standards, deep knowledge of industry standards for retail millwork and fixture construction.
- Join site visits to assess design implementation and provide guidance to ensure design intent is maintained.
- Lead and mentor the design team, fostering a high-performance culture and developing internal capabilities.
- Develop and track all design projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, standards and requirements during project life cycle.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in retail store design to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in interior design, architecture, or related field.
- Minimum of 12 years' experience in retail store design and concept development, with significant experience in a leadership role managing international projects.
- Demonstrated success in leading large-scale retail rollouts or commercial design projects from concept to completion, across various markets.
- Strong understanding of brand standards, retail industry trends, customer experience, space planning and market dynamics.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in office and design software, including Autocad, Sketchup and 3D modeling tools.
- Fluency in English and Mandarin.
