Vice President, Group Financial Controller

About the Job
We are recruiting a seasoned Group Financial Controller based in Hong Kong. Reporting to CFO, this core senior role takes full ownership of the group’s comprehensive financial operations, corporate governance and regulatory compliance. The scope of responsibilities covers end-to-end financial accounting, statutory audit coordination, Hong Kong and Mainland taxation management.
The ideal candidate must possess solid experience serving large global retail listed companies with in-depth knowledge of HKEX Listing Rules and cross-border financial compliance. Candidates with overseas business expansion experience are highly preferred to support the group’s global expansion strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Group Reporting
- Oversee full-cycle Group accounting and financial closing processes, including monthly, quarterly and year-end closing, consolidated financial statement preparation, inter-company reconciliation and financial record management.
- Ensure all financial reports comply with respective accounting standards, group accounting policies and HKEX disclosure requirements, and deliver accurate, timely financial data and analysis for internal management review and board decision-making.
Audit and Governance
- Establish, iterate and optimize group-wide financial standard operating procedures and internal processes leverage technologies and AI tools.
- Conduct regular internal risk assessment and control reviews to identify operational and financial risks, and launch targeted improvement initiatives.
- Lead and coordinate statutory audits and external audit engagements for Hong Kong and Mainland entities, liaise with audit firms throughout the process, follow up on audit findings, and complete rectification work in a timely manner.
Taxation
- Take full charge of cross-border taxation affairs for Mainland, Hong Kong and international entities, including regular tax filing, tax inspection coordination, tax risk prevention and reasonable tax planning.
- Keep updated with the latest Hong Kong IRD and Mainland tax policies, ensure 100% tax compliance, effectively control group tax costs, and resolve all tax-related issues and enquiries.
Overseas Business Financial Support
- Provide professional financial governance and operational support for the group’s overseas expansion projects, assist in overseas entity financial system establishment, cross-border fund scheduling and financial risk control, and support the sustainable development of global business layout.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related disciplines.
- Possess professional qualifications including CPA (HKICPA), ACCA or equivalent international accounting qualifications.
- 20+ years of progressive financial management experience, with solid experience in large-scale global retail industry and proven track record working for Hong Kong listed companies.
- Familiar with the full financial operation cycle of cross-border retail business, with mature experience in managing multi-region financial teams and complex group financial affairs.
- In-depth and proficient knowledge of HKEX Listing Rules, Hong Kong Companies Ordinance, HKFRS, as well as Mainland corporate accounting and tax regulations.
- Fully competent in listed company disclosure compliance, internal control system building, statutory audit coordination, and cross-border tax compliance and planning.
- Strong cross-border financial risk awareness, rigorous work attitude and excellent data analysis capabilities.
- Possess outstanding corporate governance, compliance management and problem-solving abilities.
- Skilled in financial ERP systems and Microsoft Office suite.
- Candidates with overseas business expansion financial management experience are highly preferred, who can independently support the group’s overseas market layout, new entity setup and global financial system iteration.
- Proficient in English and Chinese (Cantonese & Mandarin) for daily business and regulatory communication.
